Fashion and Art Collusion
A celebration of creativity Fashion and Art Collusion is the result of nine collaborations between fashion designers and contemporary artists invited by the British Fashion Council to work together on themes with Olympic values; Hussein Chalayan and Gavin Turk, Giles Deacon and Jeremy Deller, Stephen Jones and Cerith Wyn Evans, Mary Katrantzou and Mark Titchner, Nicholas Kirkwood and Simon Periton, Peter Pilotto and Francis Upritchard, Jonathan Saunders and Jess Flood Paddock, Paul Smith and Charming Baker, Matthew Williamson and Mat Collishaw Designed by Barnbook and recorded for posterity in a box, including two books, a set of posters of the finished artworks and a CD, there are interviews about the artists’ and designers’ joint creative processes and specially commissioned photographs of their collaborations by Gautier Deblonde. Introduction by Lucy Yeomans, editor of Harper’s Bazaar and an essay by Iain R Webb, professor of fashion at the Royal College of Art and Central St Martins College of Art.
