WordBank
WordBank is a conceptual art project, composed of a conglomerate of multimedia works. This ensemble forms the body of the artwork, creating the fictive corporate identity of “WordBank” – a “bank of words” that purports to manage our vocabulary, and to supply us with an access to languages and lingual registers that are beyond our reach (link to the bank’s promotional clip). In spite of its convincing appearance, which gives it the visibility of a real institution, the banking entity is completely metaphoric, non-practical and non-commercial. For the present issue of History&Theory: the Protocols, I decided to assemble a virtual exhibition that is dedicated to the punctuation mark campaign.
